Italy
One of Italy’s best-known wines is the sparkling white wine Prosecco. Across the world, consumption of sparkling wines continues to rise: up 30% between 2003 and 2013, with Prosecco and Spanish Cava proving particularly popular.
France remains the biggest producer of sparkling wines but there has been a rise in popularity of Italian and Spanish varieties.
