More 'real sugar' innovation from PepsiCo as new 'craft cola' Caleb’s Kola debuts at Costco
Hot on the heels of Pepsi True is another 'real sugar' offering from PepsiCo dubbed Caleb's Kola, a 'craft soda' designed to appeal to Millennials.
Named after Caleb Bradham, who is credited with coming up with Pepsi's formula in the 1890s, the soda is making its debut in Costco stores in New York, Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia.
PepsiCo has not commented on the launch - details of which were first broken by Beverage Digest - but according to the Caleb's Kola website (which makes no mention of PepsiCo), the soda contains a "blend of sustainable Fair Trade cane sugar, kola nuts from Africa, a special blend of spices from around the world, and a hint of citrus", and has 110 calories and 29g of sugar per 10oz bottle.
