Carlsberg is trialing a scheme in Denmark whereby drinkers in selected bars get half price beer in exchange for uploading pictures of themselves there to Instagram.

Using Happy Hour 2.0 visitors to bars can carry on buying Carlsberg or Tuborg at half price by uploading their snaps with the name of the venue and by using the #HappyBeerTime hashtag.

Seems likes a clever viral marketing trick to us, although you do wonder what alcohol awareness charities might think – given that the idea is, clearly, to encourage people to drink.

Anyway, here’s a short video from Carlsberg’s digital marketing agency in Denmark, Konstellation, showing how Happy Hour 2.0 works.
